Dear JSAC Members.

 

Norio Ota will complete his 4-year term as JSAC Secretary-Treasurer in October 2016.

He has told me that he is willing to continue this position for another term (2016-2020).

 

In accordance with the JSAC Constitution I am circulating a call for nominations for the position of JSAC Secretary-Treasurer for the 4-year term October 2016-October 2020.

 

The duties of this position (from the JSAC Constitution) are:

 

"Section 3. Secretary-Treasurer. The Secretary-Treasurer shall be elected by the members of the Association for a term of four years. The Secretary-Treasurer shall keep the records and financial accounts of the Association, oversee the collection of membership fees, maintain a current membership list, and insure that minutes are taken during the Annual Business Meeting and that these be made available to the Association. The Secretary-Treasurer shall report on the financial condition of the Association to the Annual Business Meeting."

 

All members in good standing of the Japan Studies Association are eligible to stand for nomination and all members are eligible to make nominations.

 

Nominations close JULY 31, 2016: The names of candidates and their statements of intent will be posted online and distributed to all members via email. August 1.

The official JSAC voting period, with voting commencing at 21:01 am on 1 August and closing at midnight on 31 August.

October, 2016: The election results will be reported at the Annual General Meeting during the JSAC conference.
